Boys and their cars
My little boy is obsessed with Formula 1. Jenson Button (pronounced But-tim :-) is his favourite.... Note the pit lane on the last picture below!
Green Grass in Parkhurst
While on my way to lunch in a 4th Avenue eatery in Parkhurst a while ago, I popped into the Green Grass Shop. Before you even look at the products for sale in the shop, you are immediately intrigued by their fascinating shop décor. The wallpaper used in the shop and designed by the owner is a feast for the eyes. The products itself are all unique handcrafted products, mostly made using a laser cutter. Nothing is mass-produced, so if you like products with incredible attention to detail, Green Grass will not disappoint.

4th Avenue Coffee Roasters
On the corner of 4th avenue and 11th street in Parkhurst is the tiniest coffee roastery with probably the brightest pink coffee roaster you'll ever see. Next time you need a caffiene fix, head to the quaint 4th Avenue Coffee Roasters. The street side location is perfect for a spot of people watching.

Coffee culture in Parkhurst
It's an often repeated cliché that Parkhurst is a 'village.' Well, what makes it a village? Does it have an idiot? :-)
I've decided that one of the things that makes it a village is what seems to be the whole 4th avenue's immersion in coffee culture. From the mountain bikers having breakfast in Vovo Telo after a run down the Braamfontein Spruit, through to the bloggers in The Leopard and the families having brunch at Nice, the whole strip seems to be one big choice of places to go and get a shot of espresso, done MANY ways.
